Through generous support from alums, families and friends, the Davidson Athletic Fund celebrates a new fundraising high mark. This past fiscal year, more than $23.1 million was raised for scholar-athletes in support of scholarships, excellence opportunities and capital projects.
Â
Fundraising initiatives like The Curry Family Women's Athletics Initiative, Athletics Done Right: The Next Step and Wildcat Top 21 were met with enthusiasm, and more than 4,300 donors made gifts to Davidson's 21 intercollegiate programs. Annual giving to athletics saw $3.2 million raised, supporting expendable scholarships and operating budgets for each team. As part of the Curry Initiative, nearly $3 million in endowed scholarships was raised, which will benefit 10 women's programs.
Â
"We are beyond grateful to the Davidson community for this incredible record-breaking support," said Director of Athletics Chris Clunie '06. "The success of our athletic programs is in large part a direct result of the support we receive. Simply put, we could not do what we do without it. We look forward to the upcoming year and cheering on our scholar-athletes as they continue to reach new levels of success in and out of competition."
Â
This past year, the Wildcats celebrated new program records, two conference championships, four coaches of the year and a record 322 scholar-athletes who earned the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. The full 2021-2022 athletics annual report is found here.
