Wildcats Fight To The End With Flyers

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson Wildcats were narrowly edged out by the Dayton Flyers in Atlantic 10 men's tennis action on Friday evening, falling 4-3 in the final match from the Davidson Tennis Courts.
The 'Cats dropped the doubles point to allow Dayton the early 1-0 lead, despite Maxwell Kachkarov and William Clark earning an impressive 7-6 win from court one. Freshmen doubles duo Nico Pinzon and Juan Camilo Perez Gongora took a 3-0 lead early at No. 3, but the Flyers stormed back to win the match 6-4 and secure the point for Dayton.
On the singles side, Udday Singh won a dominant two-set, 6-1, 6-4 result on court two, while Kachkarov and Perez Gongora each picked up two set wins, on courts three and four respectively, that tied the match at 3-all going into the final battle of the day.
Senior Sam Kavarana battled on court five, pushing Dayton's Perouski to the brink, but ultimately fell in the three sets to allow the Flyers to take home the 4-3 victory.
