DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson wrestling fell to Appalachian State on Friday night inside Belk Arena, 34-6. The 'Cats drop to 3-10 on the season while the Mountaineers finished out their season undefeated in the SoCon and clinched the conference regular-season championship.
The two wins for the 'Cats came from Gavin Henry and Finlay Holston at 184 and 197, respectively. Henry earned a 6-3 decision over Brett Mordecai of Appalachian State while Finlay Holston made it two in a row for Davidson, escaping with a 3-2 decision over Wyatt Miller.
Mitchell Trigg stepped onto the mat looking to make it three in a row and was up 6-0 entering the second period. He got caught at 5:59 and Michael Burchell closed it out for the Mountaineers.
UP NEXT
The 'Cats will look to close out its regular season on Sunday, Feb. 27 against Presbyterian. The 1 pm matchup will feature Davidson's Centennial Celebration and recognition of alumni.
