DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson Wildcats will make their first of three national television appearances on Thursday night, as they head to Reynolds Coliseum for a top-10 match up with #7/8 NC State.

Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Wildcats is scheduled for 8 p.m. with live national television coverage provided by the ACC Network.

THE SERIES
  • NC State holds the all-time series at an 8-1 advantage.
  • The Wolfpack have won the last eight meetings against the 'Cats, as Davidson won the first all-time matchup in November 1975, 64-59.
  • Thursday's tip will be the first meeting between the two teams since December 2018, when the Pack won 75-45.
  • The #7/8 Pack are the highest ranked opponent Davidson has seen since the 2005-06 season when taking on #6 UNC.

LAST TIME OUT... Powered by a season-high 11 three-pointers and 61 percent shooting from deep, the Wildcats cruised to an 84-54 victory over UNC Greensboro last Thursday. The Wildcats made their first five attempts from beyond the arc, while Suzi-Rose Deegan shot 5-of-6 from three and led the 'Cats with 22 points. Elle Sutphin also added 21.

ROAD WARRIORS... The Wildcats have played their last eight on the road and will conclude the nine-game road swing with a nationally-ranked opponent in the NC State Wolfpack. The Pack will be Davidson's second ranked opponent of the season as the 'Cats played at No. 19 Maryland in November.

ABOUT THE WOLFPACK...  Following its road win at No. 10 Iowa, NC State moved up four spots in the AP Top 25 to crack the top 10 again. The team has been ranked No. 8 back-to-back weeks and is 9-1 overall, while Davidson will be the Pack's final non-conference opponent of the year.

MILESTONE MARKERS... Davidson women's basketball is closing in on 500 wins in the 44th season of the program's history. With four wins so far this season, the Wildcats have collected 497 wins in program history. Other milestones on the horizon are two newcomers to the 1,000-point club as fifth year Chloe Welch has 941 career points to date and senior Rosie Deegan has 860.

BEARING THE LOAD... The 'Cats average 61.4 points per game this season, as Elle Sutphin and Rosie Deegan lead the team with 17.7 and 13.1 points per game, respectively. Sutphin ranks 61st nationally and third in the A-10 in points per game, and is 55th in total points (177). Sutphin has scored in double-figures in all but one of Davidson's games this season, while recording five 20+ point performances and a 30-point effort against Jacksonville State.
