DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Exhilarating for a coach.
That's how Davidson coach Bob McKillop described Tuesday night's 88-52 win over Coppin State in Belk Arena, as his Wildcats (5-5) posted their most lopsided victory of the season.
Davidson totaled a season-high 26 assists and a season-low five turnovers, and McKillop liked how his team crisply moved the basketball.
"There's no doubt that's been a focus of ours this week," said McKillop. "Our guys made great decisions and, of course, we finished."
Guard Carter Collins connected on five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 19 points, while freshman wing Hyunjung Lee notched his first career double-double with 17 points and 10 boards.
"Without a doubt, it's the best performance he's had in a college uniform," McKillop said of Lee.
Forward Luka Brajkovic narrowly missed a double-double, with 13 points and a career-high nine assists to go with seven boards. Kellan Grady added 14 points and seven rebounds.
Davidson shot 52 percent from the floor (34-of-65) and hit 13-of-31 shots from beyond the arc (42 percent), while holding Coppin State (4-7) to 33 percent shooting (18-of-54).
The Wildcats built a 43-22 lead by the half, and the lead peaked at 37 with 1:59 to play.
Kamar McKnight and Koby Thomas scored 17 and 12 points, respectively, to lead the Eagles.
UP NEXT
Davidson will take a 12-day break for exams before returning to action Sunday, Dec. 22 at Loyola-Chicago. The Wildcats' contest against the 2018 Final Four participants will be their first of four straight away from home.
