DAVIDSON, N.C. – Freshman Kellan Grady scored a game-high 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting and Davidson drilled 15 3-pointers as the Wildcats cruised past La Salle, 84-65, Wednesday night at Belk Arena.
Jon Axel Gudmundsson added 17 points and 9 assists, while Peyton Aldridge scored in double figures for the 29th consecutive game with 16.
As a team, Davidson (11-9, 6-3 A-10) shot 50-percent overall, finished 15-of-32 from long range and went 9-for-9 at the charity stripe.
In addition to starting 5-of-5 from the floor and racing out to a 13-0 advantage, the Wildcats led by as many as 25 and drilled nine 3-pointers in the opening period before leading 41-24 at the break.
B.J. Johnson paced La Salle (9-13, 3-6 A-10) with 20 points, while Jamir Moultrie scored 19.
The Wildcats finished with a 36-25 margin on the glass and held the Explorers to just 42.3 percent, including 8-of-25 in the first 20 minutes.
