DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Peyton Aldridge led all players with 22 points and Jack Gibbs recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 assists to lead Davidson past Duquesne, 77-66, in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Wednesday evening at John M. Belk Arena.
For the second straight outing, Jordan Watkins and Andrew McAuliffe also added double figures for the Wildcats with 14 and 12, respectively.
In addition to holding Duquesne (10-5, 0-2 A-10) to just 39.7 percent from the floor, including a 4-of-24 effort from long range, the Wildcats finished with a 41-38 edge on the glass.
Davidson (9-4, 1-1 A-10) scored the first six points of the second half and eventually stretched the advantage to as many as 17.
Rusty Reigel led the Wildcats with a career-high 7 rebounds, while three others grabbed six each.
After Davidson reeled off 10 unanswered to take a 36-26 lead, the Dukes closed the opening period on 10-2 spurt to cut the deficit to 38-36 at the half.
Aldridge led all players at the break with 16 points.
L.G. Gill paced the Dukes with 18 points; Derrick Colter added 17, while Eric James had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Davidson shot 42.4 percent overall and converted 13-of-14 from the charity stripe.

Davidson will conclude its brief homestand Saturday with a 7 p.m. contest against George Mason at Belk Arena.
