RICHMOND, Va. – Peyton Aldridge scored a career-high 34 points to lead Davidson to a 78-70 victory at Richmond in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action Monday evening at the Robins Center.
 
A sophomore from Leavittsburg, Ohio, Aldridge finished 11-of-15 from the floor and made 11 of his 13 free throws to pace four Wildcats in double figures.
 
Jack Gibbs and Brian Sullivan added 11 points each, while Jordan Barham had 10 off the bench for Davidson.
 
After Richmond (10-8, 2-4 A-10) took its first lead, 46-45, and later extended the margin to five, with 9 minutes to play, Davidson (12-6, 4-3 A-10), answered with a 15-2 spurt highlighted by three Sullivan treys, to go in front for good.
 
In addition to holding the Spiders without a 3-point field goal (0-15), the Wildcats finished 21-of-24 at the charity stripe.
 
Terry Allen paced Richmond with 23 points. T.J. Cline (18), ShawnDre' Jones (16) and Khwan Fore (11) also contributed double digits.
 
Davidson, which opened 7-of-8 from the floor, raced out to a 17-4 lead. The Spiders responded with a lengthy run of their own before the Wildcats went to the half up, 37-33.
 
Aldridge led all players with 18 points at the break.
 
The Spiders held a 36-35 edge on the glass.
