'Cats Extend Streak to Five with 76-57 Win Over Fordham

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Brian Sullivan paced five Davidson players in double figures with a game-high 18 points as the Wildcats won their fifth straight with a 76-57 victory over Fordham Saturday evening at Belk Arena.
Jack Gibbs (17), Tyler Kalinoski (14), Oskar Michelsen (12) and Jordan Barham (10) also went over the 10-point plateau for Davidson (19-6, 10-4), which finished the game shooting 50 percent, including 11 3-pointers.
In addition to another strong offensive performance, the Wildcats held the Rams to just 37.7 percent, while forcing 14 turnovers and picking up nine steals.
Davidson raced out to a 16-5 advantage capped off by consecutive treys from Peyton Aldridge and Kalinoski before going to the half up, 38-25. Gibbs, who made his first start since Jan. 17, led all players at the break with 11 points.
Bryan Smith led three Rams in double digits with 15 points, while Eric Paschall and Nemanja Zarkovic had 14 and 13, respectively.
After Fordham (8-17, 3-11 A-10) scored four straight to begin the second half and cut the deficit to nine, the Wildcats responded with eight unanswered to put the game out of reach. Davidson pushed its lead to as many as 24 on separate occasions.
Led by nine rebounds from Barham, the Wildcats held a 33-32 edge on the glass.
The win was the 300th conference (278 SoCon, 12 Big South, 10 A-10) victory for Davidson head coach Bob McKillop.
Davidson will travel to Rhode Island for a 7 p.m. contest Wednesday.
