DAVIDSON, N.C. —
Looking to give their two seniors a winning weekend, the Davidson women's basketball team will play host to Western Carolina in a Senior Day game Saturday at 4 p.m. in John M. Belk Arena. The game will also be televised on ESPN3.

Saturday's game will be the second-to-last home contest as the Wildcats will then play Appalachian State Monday evening to wrap up its home schedule for the regular season.

Seniors Laura Murray and Shneeka Center will be honored as part of Senior Day. The duo have again helped the Wildcats rank among the best in the SoCon, sitting in second place in the league standings.

Game Promotions
Besides the Senior Day honors prior to the start of the game, Saturday's contest is also "All Red. All Day" where the Wildcats will wear their uniforms for their home game. Fans are also encouraged to wear red for the women's game for American Heart Assocation and then later for the men's game at 7 p.m. for Access to Success. Kicks from 'Cats shirts are on sale at the college store or at the game for $15.00.

Game Notes: Quick Hits ...
•Davidson (12-13, 9-5 SoCon), sitting in second place in the SoCon standings, is looking to snap a two-game skid.
•Davidson is 6-6 at home (5-2 in league games) after a 90-82 setback last Saturday to Georgia Southern.
•The Wildcats have won 22 of their last 27 home league games dating back to 2011-12.
•The Wildcats were picked to finish third in both the coaches and media preseason poll.
•Head coach Michele Savage enters her fourth year (70-53, 50-24 SoCon) and is 6-1 vs Western Carolina.
•Savage is second in the program's coaching history with her 50 career SoCon wins.

Last Game Out vs. Georgia Southern ...
•Despite scoring 82 points, Davidson was unable to contain the Eagles in falling 90-82 last Saturday.
•Trailing most of the game, the 'Cats had tied it up at 77, but were outscored 13-5 in the last 3 mins.
•Murray had 25 points, her 91st career double-figure scoring game, and pocketed six steals.
•Davidson hit 24 of its 31 free throw attempts, one off the team season-high set at UNCG, Feb. 8.
Hannah Early and Dakota Dukes (a career-high 11-of-13 free throws) each scored 19 points apiece.

Senior Day ...
•Murray and fellow senior Center are playing their second-to-last home game Saturday.
•Murray has had an outstanding four-year career, ranking in the Wildcats' record book top-15 in 13 different categories, including second in points and made three-pointers, free throws and field goals.
•She was the 2011 SoCon Freshman of the Year and is a two-time All-SoCon First Team coaches pick.
•Center has been a staple off the bench, seeing action in 81 games. She has registered two of her three career double-doubles this year and scored in double figures 22 times during her career.

Weekly Award Winners ...
•Murray was named the SoCon Player of the Month for December and has been tabbed SoCon Player of the Week three times this year, Dec. 3, 10 & Feb. 4, to give her four for her career.
•Dukes was tabbed SoCon Player of the Week, Jan. 14 & Shannon Eriksson was the SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week, Jan. 8.

Senior Guard Laura Murray ...
•Murray was selected to the coaches preseason All-SoCon team for the second year in a row.
•Murray ranks second all-time in career points (1,740) and is 138 away from passing two-time SoCon Player of the Year Sophia Aleksandravicius, who holds seven all-time career records.
•She is second all-time with 206 career three-pointers and is eight away from the top spot.  
•The senior is also second all-time in made field goals at 588, needing 96 to move into first.
•Of Murray's 24 double-figure scoring games this year, 13 have been in the 20-point category.

All-Time Series vs. Western Carolina ...
•The 'Cats have closed the gap, tying things up at 25-all in the all-time series that dates back to 1976. •Davidson has won six straight and nine of the past 11 meetings overall.
•The Wildcats took the first matchup at Western, 69-65. Center (17 points / 10 rebounds) and Dukes (11 / 10) had double-doubles and Davidson scored 47 second-half points.

Scouting the Opposition ...
•Western Carolina (12-14, 6-9) is coming off a 63-51 home win vs. UNCG Monday.
•Erika Joseph led the way with her first career double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.
•The win was the Catamounts' first SoCon season-series sweep and halted a three-game losing skid.
•WCU is 3-9 in the road this year, with two of those wins coming against SoCon foes (2-5).
•Rena Wakama leads the team in scoring (10.3 ppg) and seven times has been the high scorer.
•Shauna Terry is averaging close to five rebounds a game and has a team-high 31 blocks (5th SoCon).
•Western is 3rd in the SoCon in scoring defense (60.7) and 2nd in field goal defense (38.9 percent).
•WCU had a 26-22 halftime lead last time vs. Davidson, but was outscored 47-39 the rest of the way.
•The Catamounts have dropped their last three road games at Elon, Samford and Chattanooga.
•Returning are 11 letterwinners, including four starters, from last year's 7-23 team (5-15 SoCon).
•Head coach Karen Middleton is in her fifth year at Western and has gone 49-91 during her tenure.
