Wildcats Set for Trio of Weekend Duals

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson wrestling team will be both home and away for a trio of duals this weekend, taking on VMI on the road before returning to Belk Arena for tilts with The Citadel and Franklin & Marshall.
 
The action begins on Friday evening, when the Wildcats face the Keydets at 7:30 p.m. at the Thunderdome in Lexington, Va. The 'Cats then return home to host the Bulldogs and the Diplomats at Belk Arena Sunday afternoon starting at 1 p.m. Davidson and The Citadel will square off first, followed by a neutral-site match between The Citadel and F&M with the 'Cats and the Diplomats wrapping up the action. There will be approximately 10 minutes between each dual.

VMI History
Friday marks the 71st all-time meeting between the Wildcats and the Keydets (2-11) who first met back in 1921. VMI holds a 68-1-1 series advantage, including a 36-0 win last season. The two teams also battled to a 16-16 draw in January of 2006 and Davidson taking a 23-12 victory in January of 2009. Interestingly enough, Alex Radsky earned a 4-2 decision at 133-pounds to help the 'Cats to victory that day and now serves as an assistant coach for the Keydets.

Citadel History
The Bulldogs enter Belk Arena with a 49-0-1 series lead since the first meeting between the two back in the 1963-64 season. The Citadel, who are 3-3 enter the weekend, also took last year's meeting by a score of 32-12 and boast a trio of nationally-ranked grapplers on the squad.

The Wildcats and Diplomats (4-2) have split the previous six meetings, each taking three wins and three losses since the initial meeting in 2001-02.  F&M took last season's tilt by a score of 20-16 in Lancaster, Pa., while the Wildcats last downed the Diplomats 27-15 in 2010-11.
