DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson wrestling team will open the 2013 Southern Conference schedule on Wednesday when they host in-state foe Gardner-Webb at Belk Arena in a 7 p.m. dual match.

Scouting the Runnin' Bulldogs
Gardner-Webb enters the match up 5-9 overall and 0-1 in the SoCon after falling to Appalachian State 29-3 Monday evening. Redshirt freshman Austin Trott leads the team with a 17-3 mark at 165-pounds, ranking 30th in the nation. Sophomore Hunter Gamble is 11-2 at 174-pounds, while senior Robert Golde is 11-8 thus far at 133.

Series History
The Runnin' Bulldogs lead the series with 20-2-1 record since the first meeting between the two teams in 1987-88. Last season, Philip Elias defeated Cortez Starkes in a 5-4 decision at 125-pounds, but GWU would claim eight of 10 bouts to take a 29-6 victory

Streakin'
Kevin Birmingham is on a roll at 141-pounds, going 4-0 in a week that was highlighted by a pin of No. 20 Justin Arthur of Clarion. Dating back to Dec. 7, Birmingham has pinned five straight opponents, racking up his tenth of the season this weekend vs. Pittsburgh.
