DAVIDSON, N.C. – After competing in seven matches on the road, the Davidson wrestling team will compete in Belk Arena for the first time since November when the Wildcats host a tri-meet with Boston University and Southern Conference foe VMI Sunday.

BU and VMI will start the event with a match at 1 p.m., and Davidson will then challenge BU at 2:30 p.m. The Wildcats and Keydets will compete 10 minutes after the conclusion of the previous match.

Scouting the Wildcats: Davidson (5-6, 0-2 SoCon) is looking to snap a five-match losing streak after starting the season 5-1. Scott Patrick (184 pounds) boasts the top record on the squad at 13-5, and also leads the team with five pins, but has lost his last three matches. Philip Elias (125 pounds) has been the hottest Wildcat recently, winning six of his last seven matches, including two pins and two SoCon wins. He also boasts the team's top dual meet record at 9-2, and has accounted for 18.9 percent of Davidson's points scored in dual matches (44 of 233 points).

Scouting the Terriers: Boston University begins their North Carolina road trip at 5-3 overall, and 1-3 in the CAA. The Terriers wrestle at Duke Saturday before visiting Belk Arena Sunday. Nestor Taffur, a 157-pounder, leads the team with a 22-6 record and seven pins, including a 7-0 mark in dual matches. Davidson and BU share one common opponent in Sacred Heart, which the Wildcats defeated 42-9 and BU defeated 53-0. BU and Davidson are facing each other on the mat for just the second time, as the Terriers claimed the first-ever meeting in 2010-11, 36-10.

Scouting the Keydets: VMI (0-8, 0-1 SoCon) opens its SoCon schedule Friday night at Gardner-Webb before taking on BU and Davidson. Of Keydets slated to compete, 165-pound freshman Mark Darr leads the team with a 10-12 record and is 3-4 in dual matches. He and 197-pounder Urayoan Garcia lead the team with three pins. VMI and Davidson both suffered losses to their common opponents this season: Franklin & Marshall and The Citadel. Davidson trails in the all-time series, 1-34-1, as VMI has taken the last three meetings. Davidson's last SoCon win was against the Keydets in 2009.

Up Next: After seven consecutive matches on the road (two of which were neutral site contests), the 'Cats will conclude the regular season by competing at home for eight of their final nine matches. Davidson will host another tri-meet Saturday, Feb. 2, beginning at 11 a.m. against conference foe SIUE and concluding with a 2 p.m. match against Duke.
