DAVIDSON, N.C. – Strong defense and Noah Dahlman's 19 points led Wofford to a 73-51 win over Davidson in Southern Conference men's basketball action Wednesday night in Belk Arena.

Jake Cohen led the Wildcats (13-13, 8-6 SoCon) with 17 points, hitting all 10 free throw attempts, and added five rebounds. JP Kuhlman also reached double-figures, scoring 13 points and led the 'Cats with six boards. Will Archambault chipped in seven points and four rebounds.

Dahlman scored his 19 points for Wofford (20-8, 12-3 SoCon) on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and 7-of-10 shooting from the charity stripe. He also pulled in six boards. Jamar Diggs added 10 points and Brad Loesing scored nine. Tim Johnson led the Terriers on the glass with eight rebounds.

The Terrier defense held the 'Cats to 29.5 percent shooting for the game, including 5-for-24 in the first half. Davidson made its first two shot attempts of the game but then went ice cold, making one of its next 15 attempts from the field as the Terriers opened a 23-point cushion.

The Wildcats used an 11-2 run at the end of the first half and cut the margin to 36-22 on a pair of Cohen free throws with 1:17 left. Davidson got a defensive stop and had a chance to get even closer but a turnover stymied the run, and Diggs hit a step-back jumper with 14 seconds left to give Wofford a 38-22 advantage at the break.

The Wildcats trimmed the lead to 13 points on a Cohen 3-pointer 4:10 into the second frame and got three successive stops on defense but couldn't capitalize offensively. A pair of Terry Martin free throws ignited a 19-5 run that made the margin 27 points with 6:09 to play and put the game out of reach.

Davidson returns to action at home Saturday when the Wildcats host Furman at 2 p.m. in Belk Arena.

Notes: Cohen's 10 free throws were a career high … Will Archambault and Bryant Barr equaled Andrew Lovedale's record of 130 career games played… The game is the first of five in 11 days for the Wildcats… Just two home contests remain: Feb. 20 vs. Furman and Feb. 24 vs. UNC Greensboro.
