DAVIDSON, N.C. -
The Davidson Wildcats held UNC Greensboro to 18 first-half points and led from tip to horn on their way to a 70-49 Southern Conference victory over the Spartans Wednesday night at John M. Belk Arena.

Stephen Curry led the Wildcats with game-high totals of 20 points and 10 rebounds, while adding five assists in 26 minutes of action.  Andrew Lovedale chipped in 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting, and Frank Ben-Eze collected a career-high nine points and added four rebounds.

Davidson had three players pull down seven rebounds on the night, with Lovedale, Max Paulhus Gosselin and Will Archambault accomplishing the feat.

Kendall Toney led UNCG with 15 points, shooting 3-of-5 from behind the 3-point line. The Spartans were held to 33.3 percent shooting from the floor as a team, and the 'Cats forced the Spartans into 20 turnovers with the aid of 10 steals. In addition to the strong defense, Davidson controlled the boards, holding a 47-35 rebounding edge.

Holding onto a 10-9 early advantage, Davidson (23-6, 16-2 SoCon) opened up a 10-point lead by scoring eight unanswered points and holding the Spartans scoreless for over five minutes.
A pair of Paulhus Gosselin free throws with 14 seconds remaining in the half gave the 'Cats a 36-18 lead going into the break.

Davidson held UNC Greensboro (4-24, 3-16) to eight made field goals in the frame, while forcing 12 turnovers, which were converted into 12 points.

After the Spartans cut the lead down to 13 in the second half, Davidson answered with a 21-6 run over the next eight minutes to stretch the advantage past the 30-point mark. Curry highlighted the run with a crossover, fade-away four-point play, knocking down the 3-pointer and getting fouled, bringing the score to 53-32.

The Wildcats will wrap up their regular season home schedule this Saturday, Feb. 28, when they play host to the Georgia Southern Eagles at Belk Arena. The 2 p.m. contest will also be Senior Day for the team's three seniors – Lovedale, Can Civi, and Paulhus Gosselin.

Notes: Curry now needs 30 points to become Davidson's all-time leading scorer… It was his fourth double-double of the season and the sixth of his career… Because Spring Break starts Friday, it was the last home game with the students on campus for the three seniors… It was the 10th straight sellout at Belk Arena… Davidson has held its opponents to under 40 percent shooting in 16 games and won all 16.
