Tonight's Game
• Davidson travels up the road to Hickory to take on Lenoir-Rhyne.
• The 'Cats are 11-6 in their last 17 contests, dating back to 2007.
• Davidson is coming off a 21-9 loss at UNC?Pembroke last Saturday. The Wildcats are 2-4 on the road in their last six games.
• Lenoir-Rhyne enters the game with a 2-0 record and is coming off a 28-10 victory over Concord University. It's the third straight home game for the Bears.
Series Record
• The Wildcats trail the all-time series, which began in 1910, 7-6, but have won the last two games.
• One of those wins was a 24-14 victory in Hickory in 2006, the 'Cats first at Lenoir-Rhyne.
• The other was last season's 21-20 win in Richardson Stadium on a touchdown by Kenny Mantuo with two minutes left to go.
• The Bears won five straight against Davidson from 1974 to 2005.
• Kirk Konert's 52-yard reception from Matt McGreevy set up Mantuo's touchdown reception in last season's contest.
• After Cody Elder hit the PAT, Peter Bakke forced a fumble, and Tyler Lemons recovered it with 32 seconds left to seal the win.
• Konert finished with 100 yards on four receptions, and McGreevy threw for 238 yards on 15 completions.
• Andrew Courman rushed for 163 yards and a TD on 21 carries to lead the Bears.
• Daniel Anderson finished with 106 passing yards and 17 on the ground.
Scouting the Bears
• Lenoir-Rhyne runs an option offense out of wing-T formation and is averaging a hefty 354 yards a game on the ground. The Bears have rushed for nine TDs and thrown for two this season.
• Andrew Courman leads the attack with 114 yards on 20 carries, and Jasper Thomas has 107 markers on 13 carries.
• The LR?defense has six takeaways, including five interceptions. The Bears have a +4 turnover margin.
• Marcus Shuford leads the team in tackles with 16 and has two picks. The Bears have 13 tackles for loss and four sacks as a team.
Last Time Out
• UNC Pembroke took advantage of four Davidson turnovers to post a 21-9 victory over the Wildcats.
• The Wildcats made four trips inside the red zone and came away with points once on a 1-yard run by Chad Barnes after Brandon Giles had intercepted a pass at the Pembroke 1-yard line.
• Kirk Konert had 10 receptions for 85 yards to lead the Davidson offense.
• Ryan Alexander completed 28-of-38 passes for 237 yards but had three interceptions.
• It was the least points Davidson has scored since a 16-9 loss at Lenoir-Rhyne in 2005.
