12th Season
Will Reigel ’12 is entering his 12th season on staff for the Davidson men's basketball program, and his first as associate head coach after being promoted in September 2024.
After serving as the assistant for program development, Reigel was promoted to assistant coach during the summer of 2014.
In addition to helping the Wildcats’ to their first-ever Atlantic 10 Tournament title in 2018, Davidson has posted an 193-121 overall record, 104-69 conference mark and six postseason appearances (2015, 2018 & 2022 NCAA, 2016, 2019 & 2021 NIT) since Reigel joined the bench in 2014.
At the conclusion of the 2015-16 campaign, Reigel was one of 30 assistant coaches across the country named to the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) Under Armour 30-under-30 Team.
A two-time captain and member of the Wildcats from 2008-12, Reigel served as Davidson’s assistant for program development during the 2013-14 season.
In addition to helping the Wildcats to the 2012 Southern Conference Championship and berth in the NCAA Tournament, Reigel was a part of three postseason (1 – NCAA, 1 – NIT, 1 – CBI) squads.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, Reigel was a Sponsorship Sales and Marketing Intern for the Carolina Panthers, where he was instrumental in executing the GMC sponsorship contract.
Outside of his responsibilities with the Panthers, Reigel was an assistant boy’s basketball coach at the Charlotte Latin School.
A native of Charlotte, Reigel’s father, Ernie, was a member of the Davidson men’s basketball team from 1976-80, and his younger brother, Rusty ’18, who was a four-year letterwinner for the Wildcats.
Reigel and his wife, Jessie, reside in nearby Cornelius. They welcomed their daughter Lily in April of 2024.
