Sullivan Finishes Third in Steeplechase as ‘Cats Conclude A-10 Championships

FAIRFAX, Va. — Molly Sullivan finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to lead the Davidson women's track and field team on the final day of the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championships at George Mason Stadium.
A senior from North Kingstown, R.I., Sullivan — the school-record holder — finished in 10:28.77 to capture her second medal in the event.
Davidson's relay teams also put together impressive showings, scoring in both the 4x100 (47.48 / eighth) and 4x400 (3:47.77 / fourth).
In the women's 400-meter hurdles, freshman Elle Collins (1:02.90) added to the Wildcats' team total with an eighth-place finish in her first career conference meet.
A day after setting a personal best in the hammer throw, sophomore Ashley Rangel finished fifth in the shot put with a distance of 13.12 meters (43 feet, 1/2 inch).
Highlighted by a win in the shot put, Davidson's Hannah Casey recorded a personal record with 4,677 points in the heptathlon to place seventh.
In the distance events, Gilly Shumate (17:29.37) and Justine Meta (17:50.42) shattered their previous bests in the 5,000 meters.
