Hidalgo and Procacci Tabbed for All-Conference Honors

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sophomores Davide Procacci and Goyo Hidalgo have been named to the Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis All-Conference Second Team, the league announced Monday. The honors come after the duo led the Wildcats run to the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Hidalgo, earning his second consecutive second-team all-conference nod, anchored the No. 1 singles position for the 'Cats, securing critical wins against opponents such as Queens, Belmont Abbey, and Saint Louis.

In the conference tournament against Saint Louis, he a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Declan Townsend to help propel Davidson into the next round. His impact was felt in doubles play, where he teamed with Kai Villagomez for a 7-6(7) win at the No. 1 spot to clinch the doubles point against the Billikens.

A native of Naples, Fla., Procacci proved to be a reliable force for the Wildcats across both singles and doubles play. In the 4-1 victory over Saint Louis, Procacci put the Wildcats on the brink of advancement by earning a crucial 7-5, 6-3 win at the No. 3 singles position. He also played a pivotal role in securing the doubles point in that match, pairing with Sebastian Carpio Moran for a 7-5 victory at the No. 2 spot.

Earlier in the season, Procacci earned a come-from-behind three-set win against Queens (6-3, 3-6, 6-6) and a doubles victory against Lenoir-Rhyne.
