Cantorna Sets New School Record in Pole Vault

DURHAM, N.C. – Bella Cantorna set a new school record in the pole vault to highlight the final day of competition for the Davidson women's track and field team at the Duke Invitational Saturday.
A native of Houston, Texas, Cantorna set the new standard with a height of 3.93m (12-10.75) to finish runner-up in her group. The sophomore shattered her previous best by over a foot, while bettering the program record by 1.25 inches.
In addition, the Wildcats got new personal records from first-year sprinters Elle Collins (1:01.91) and Sofia Kardel (1:02.73) in the 400m hurdles and a career-best time of 2:14.94 in the 800m from Katie Deacon.
Amelia Monohan also competed in the 800 finishing in a season-best 2:17.46.

Davidson will travel to Winston-Salem next week for the Wake Forest Invite April 16-17.
