Women Open Outdoor Season at 49ers Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Davidson women's track & field team opened their 2026 outdoor campaign Friday at the Charlotte 49ers Classic.
Sophomore Stefania Williams highlighted competition for the Wildcats this afternoon finishing third out of 45 competitors in the long jump with a mark of 5.81m (19-3/4").
The freshmen duo of Elle Collins and Sofia Kardel put together strong collegiate debuts in the 400m hurdles to place eighth and tenth with times of 1:03.17 and 1:03.49, respectively.
In the 1500m, Ansley Prescott (4:37.21/12th) and Mary Shoop (4:43.47/21st) posted new personal records, while senior Molly Sullivan just missed a new career best with a time of 4:38.34.
The spring opener will conclude tomorrow with events beginning at 9 a.m.
