Wildcats Wrap Up Meets at JDL and VMI

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. / LEXINGTON, Va. – Highlighted by a number of personal records, the Davidson women's indoor track & field team wrapped up competitions Saturday afternoon at the Camel City Sprints / Distance and VMI Winter Relays.
On day two at JDL, the distance runners shined for the Wildcats highlighted by Katie Deacon's win in the 1000m with a personal-best time of 2:59.40.
Molly Sullivan put together an impressive showing in the 3000m coming home third, while turning in a career-best run of 9:52.19.
In addition, the following Wildcats recorded personal-bests in their respective events – Ansley Prescott (Mile | 5:00.37), Gilly Shumate (Mile | 5:03.62), Ava Linnell (Mile | 5:10.77), Charlotte Moor (3000m | 10:22.56) and Camryn Quinn (3000m | 10:40.91).
Just up the road in Lexington, Va., the trio of Bella Cantorna, Molly O'Brien and Caroline Birdsall turned in Top-5 showings in the pole vault.
Cantorna finished runner-up with a season-best height of 3.60m (11-09.75), while O'Brien (3.45m | 11-03.75) and Birdsall (3.45m | 11-03.75) placed third and fifth, respectively.

Davidson returns to action next weekend at the David Hemery Valentine Invite (Boston, Mass.) as well as the JDL College Invite (Winston-Salem, N.C.).
