Rangel Breaks Own School Record; Finishes Third in Shot Put at A-10 Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Davidson sophomore Ashley Rangel continued her impressive season by breaking her own school record in the shot put for the fourth time this year, claiming a third-place podium finish at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Rangel, a standout from Centerton, Arkansas, delivered a throw of 13.88m (45-06.50) at the Virginia Beach Sports Center, surpassing the previous program mark she had set just one week prior.
Freshman Leila Haley also scored for the Wildcats with a time of 1:16.20 in the 500 to finish fifth, adding four more points to the team total.
On the distance side, senior Molly Sullivan came home ninth out of 39 competitors in the 3K, while Ava Linnell set a new personal record in the mile with a 5:05.13.
As a team, Davidson finished the weekend with 25 points to finish ninth out of 13 teams.
