MILL SPRING, N.C. – Three school records fell as the Davidson women's indoor track & field team returned to action Friday at the Tryon Banked Invitational.
Freshman Elle Collins set a new standard in the 300m with a time of 40.59 to place fourth. She was followed by teammates and classmates Leila Haley (6th / 40.82) and Sofia Kardel (9th / 41.42), also eclipsing the previous mark, which was set in 2015.
Davidson's Stefania Williams finished first in the long jump with a mark of 5.89m (19-04.00), breaking her own school record by nearly a foot.
Fellow sophomore Ashley Rangel also broke her own shot-put record with a throw of 13.24m (43-05.25) to finish runner-up out of 60 competitors.
Ansley Prescott, another freshman for the Wildcats, won the mile with a time of 5:06.75.
Competing for the first time since Dec. 6-7, 2025, the Wildcats also got Top-5 finishes from the following in their respective events – Isabella Godoy (800m / 4th / 2:20.77), Amelia Monohan (1000m / 2nd / 3:00.08), Mary Shoop (Mile / 4th / 5:09.52), Gilly Shumate (3000m / 2nd / 10:12.50) and Bella Cantorna (Pole Vault / 5th / 3.40m).
