Davidson Picked Fourth in Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Davidson volleyball team was picked fourth in the Atlantic 10 Conference's preseason coaches poll, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
This is the fifth straight year the Wildcats have been selected inside the top five of the preseason rankings. Over the last four seasons, the 'Cats are 46-24 in regular season conference matches.
"The ranking looks pretty close to what I anticipated, based on last year's finish and the talent various teams graduated," said head coach Chris Willis. "Being ranked fourth motivates our team as we have higher aspirations for the 2025 season. Ultimately, it's the finish line in November that we have our eyes on. We can't wait to start competing."
The Wildcats finished fourth with an 11-7 record in league play last season and were 16-15 overall. Davidson is led by 2024 Libero of the Year Jordan Hummel along with All-Rookie selections Kinsey Smith and Meile Songalia. Emma Slusser is back for her senior year and was the 2022 A-10 Rookie of the Year.
Dayton was picked first in this year's preseason poll. The Wildcats open conference play against the Flyers on Sept. 26 and Sept. 27 at home. Davidson begins the regular season on Aug. 29 at Winthrop.
