DAVIDSON, N.C. – Along with four talented and experienced transfers, Davidson will welcome the addition of three freshmen to the 2025-26 men's basketball roster as announced by head coach Matt McKillop Monday afternoon.

"Our coaching staff is thrilled about this incoming class, and we know that our fans will be too," commented McKillop.  "While the summer of workouts and practices will begin to define the team that we believe we can be, we love the depth of talent, skill, size, athleticism, and versatility that this group will bring. They are all high character young men who will fit in perfectly as teammates, as well as with the Davidson College community. We cannot wait for all of them to arrive and get to work."

Parker Friedrichsen
Junior | Guard
6-4 | 185
Bixby, Okla. | Bixby | Wake Forest

McKillop's Scouting Report on Friedrichsen
Parker is a player that we know well from recruiting him throughout high school. He is a terrific scorer and shooter who is very impressive with the ball in his hands.  He can put the defense on their heels from the second he gets the ball, whether on a rebound, steal, or outlet pass. Aside from all the skills and abilities he has shown over the years, what always has stood out to us the most is his tireless work ethic.

Sam Brown
Junior | Guard
6-3 | 185

Merion Station, Pa. | Lower Merion | University of Pennsylvania

McKillop's Scouting Report on Brown
Sam has basketball in his DNA and Sam's play is indicative of someone who has grown up in a basketball gym. He has an innate confidence in his game that mixed with his scoring prowess, high basketball IQ and leadership qualities, make him an excellent fit for our program and we can't wait to get him to campus.

Josh Scovens
Junior | Guard / Forward
6-6 | 220

Greensboro, N.C. | Page | Army West Point

McKillop's Scouting Report on Scovens
Josh is a tough, rugged player that plays with great force. He is versatile on the offensive end and is just as versatile defensively. He will bring a unique combination of adept scoring, along with aggressive rebounding and defensive ability. We are excited to see Josh continue to develop and contribute to our success.

JaQualon Roberts
Junior | Forward

6-8 | 230
Bloomington, Ind. | Bloomington High School North | Vanderbilt

McKillop's Scouting Report on Roberts
JQ is a special young man who is loved by all those who have coached him. His attitude, his work-ethic, and his reputation as a teammate are the qualities that everyone speaks about. We believe at Davidson he will take that next step of not only continuing to do those things the right way but impacting the game at the highest of levels with his athleticism, defensive abilities, and the offensive skills that he has not had the chance to show at the college level.

RJ Greer
Freshman | Guard

6-3 | 175
Centerville, Ohio | Archbishop Alter

McKillop's Scouting Report on Greer
We are thrilled to welcome RJ Greer to our program. RJ is a dynamic and versatile guard who can score from deep and off the bounce. His father was a great player and is a college coach, so RJ has been around the game since birth and it can be seen with his high basketball IQ. His work ethic, leadership, and winning mentality will be invaluable assets to our team as we continue to build a championship-contending program.

Devin Brown
Freshman | Guard / Forward

6-6 | 200
Lewis Center, Ohio | Olentangy Orange

McKillop's Scouting Report on Brown
We are thrilled that Devin will be joining the Davidson basketball program. From the type of player he is, to the student he is, and to the type of attitude he has, we believe that he will thrive at Davidson. He is a very talented player who has incredible versatility and plays with great IQ. Devin plays the type of team basketball that we believe will help us win championships.

Ian Platteeuw
Freshman | Center
7-0 | 232
Barcelona, Spain | Joventut Badalona

McKillop's Scouting Report on Platteeuw
We believe that Ian Platteeuw will be the next great international big man to put on a Davidson uniform. Ian is a highly skilled and versatile center who has demonstrated exceptional rebounding and playmaking abilities on the international stage. His basketball IQ, combined with his size and skill set, will make him a valuable asset to our team.
