Wildcats Fall 4-1 to Dayton in A-10 Semifinals

ORLANDO, Fla. - The fifth-seeded Davidson men's tennis team was defeated 4-1 by No. 1 see Dayton Friday in the semifinals round of the Atlantic 10 Championships.

The Wildcats end the 2025 Spring season with an overall record of 12-11, marking its first season surpassing 10 wins since a 10-4 record in the 2019-2020 season.

Dayton took an early 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point via 6-4, 6-2 wins on courts two and three respectively before closing out the doubles action with a narrow 7-6 victory on court one.

The Flyers earned the first singles win of the night in the No. 4 position before the 'Cats took a point back with Gregorio Hidalgo fighting for a 6-4, 6-2 victory on court three.

From there, Dayton was able to secure the final two team points in needed to clinch the match taking court one and court five two-set triumphs to end the night.
