
Tharin Continues Solid Play at Tar Heel Intercollegiate

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Behind a career-best 54-hole total, Will Tharin finished tied for 17th to lead the Davidson men's golf team at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate.
Hosted by the University of North Carolina, the two-day event was played on the Par 70, 7,084-yard UNC Finley Golf Course layout.
A sophomore from Rocky Mount, N.C., Tharin signed for a one-over 71 Sunday to post a final total of 213 (+3).
Joshua Stewart (+6 | T-29) finished three back of Tharin, while Will Davis also shot 71 in the final round to climb into a tie for 37th at 217 (+7).
Davidson, which fired a five-over 285 in Saturday's second round, carded a 292 today to finish at 873 (+33 | 11th).
Thanks to a tournament-low 273 in the second round, Kennesaw State (-3) leads the host Tar Heels by four.
Davis Sayman (+17) and Nate Faulkner (+26) were also in the Davidson lineup this weekend.
The host Tar Heels (-1) fired a two-under 278 on their final 18 to overtake Kennesaw State for the team title.
In addition, North Carolina's David Ford (-7) captured the individual crown by four shots.
