Procacci Named Under Armour A-10 Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON - The Davidson men's tennis team earned its second consecutive Atlantic 10 weekly award as Davide Procacci was named the Under Armour Rookie of the Week following his weekend performance, the league office announced Tuesday.Â
Procacci, a native of Naples, Fla. was undefeated against St. Bonaventure to open the weekend, taking a No. 4 singles victory (6-2, 6-1) and No. 3 doubles triumph (6-1) alongside Sophomore Charlie Ratliff to help the Wildcats earn a 4-0 A-10 win. The freshman also played solid against a tough Virginia Tech squad, pushing his singles match on court four to three sets, taking the first bout 7-5.Â
For the season, Procacci is 3-1 in singles with a 1-0 record in the No. 3 position and 2-1 mark on court four. Additionally, he is 2-2 in doubles play having earned wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots.Â
Davidson is right back to business with its third doubleheader of the year hosting Belmont Abbey 9 a.m. and North Carolina Central 4 p.m. Feb. 8.Â
