Five 'Cats Make Academic All-Conference; 23 on Academic Honor Roll

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Five wrestlers were named to the Southern Conference Academic All-Conference team, and a total of 23 Wildcats made the SoCon Academic Honor Roll the league announced today.
Jaden Hardrick, Hale Robinson, Tanner Peake, Cameo Blankenship, and Bryce Sanderlin were selected to the Academic All-Conference team. It was the third consecutive selection for Hardrick, a senior biology major. It was the second straight selection for Robinson, who is also a biology major. It marked the first career selection for Peake, Blankenship, and Sanderlin.
To be eligible for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average at the conclusion of the spring semester and were required to compete in at least one-half of their teams' competitions during the recently concluded campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions, making true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for inclusion.
On top of the five Academic All-Conference selections, 18 other Wildcats made their way on the SoCon's Academic Honor Roll.
The Academic Honor Roll consists of student-athletes who participated in conference sponsored varsity sports and posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher for the academic year, were eligible the entire academic year and were members of the final squad lists. The award is different from the academic all-conference award which is determined by cumulative GPA and involves a participation requirement.
