Patel and Porges Named to A-10 All-Conference Team

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Davidson juniors Daniela Porges and Kavya Patel garnered Atlantic 10 First and Second Team all-conference recognition, respectfully, the conference office announced Tuesday.
"I am very happy and proud of Dani and Kavya," said head coach Susanne Depka. "They both improved greatly this year both on and off the court, and I am excited to see their success rewarded."
Porges, a junior Psychology major, tied for the lead in solo wins this season with 12 singles victories including three from the No. 1 position. In doubles play, the Plantation, Fla., native claimed a team-high in wins with a 16-7 record that saw a 10-match winning streak while 14 of her 16 doubles victories took place in the No. 1 position.
Additionally, Porges held a dominant 4-1 singles record over A-10 opponents through the regular season.
A native of Roswell, Ga., Patel is a junior Psychology major and led Davidson this season with a team-high 12 singles wins, including three from the No. 3 position. Additionally in solo action, Patel went on a 10-match winning streak with only two of those matches going to three sets.
In doubles play, Patel was 15-7 and enjoyed a 10-match winning streak while all 15 of her doubles victories took place in the No. 1 position. Patel was named a 2023-24 CSC Academic All-District honoree.
The pairing of Patel and Porges went undefeated in doubles competition at the A-10 Tournament with identical 6-3 wins over Saint Joseph's and Fordham while leading the Wildcats as a doubles pair with an 11-4 record.
