Wildcats Finish Fall at UNCW and A-10 Masters

DAVIDSON - The Davidson men's tennis team wrapped up its fall season with two athletes in the Atlantic 10 Masters and the remainder of the team at the UNC Wilmington Hidden Dual. 

Seniors Juan Camilo Perez Gongora and Uddayvir Singh took part in the inaugural A-10 Conference Masters Tournament held at Davidson. 

Both Perez and Singh advanced to the quarterfinals with Singh defeating Filip Horak of Fordham (7-5, 6-4) and Perez defeating Cole Brashear from the University of Richmond (6-3, 6-0). In the quarterfinals, Singh fell to Othman Bezzaz of Saint Joseph's (2-6, 3-6) while Perez forced three sets in his match before being edged by tournament winner Kyle McNally of Dayton(4-6, 6-4, 1-6). 

As a doubles team, Singh and Perez took a tidy 8-1 victory over the duo from Saint Louis in the quarterfinals to advance to the semis. The Wildcats fought hard over the the match but were defeated by McNally and Brady Hussey of Dayton (8-4). 

At the Hidden Dual, four teams competed over three days in Davidson, Boston College, Coastal Carolina and hosts UNC Wilmington. 

Nine athletes traveled and competed at least once over the three-day span in Nico Pinzon, Luca Lovrich, Sebastian Carpio Moran, Nikhil Mukherjee, Charlie Ratliff, Gregorio Hidalgo, Davide Procacci, Miles Kennedy and Aiden Hernandez. 

The Wildcats had four doubles teams that earned wins over two days of competition against Boston College in Hidalgo/Pinzon (6-4), Carpio/Procacci (6-3), Hidalgo/Carpio (6-2) and Hernandez/Procacci (6-3). 

Additionally, the pairing of Carpio and Procacci went on to add two more doubles wins to their total for the weekend with a 6-4 triumph over UNCW and a hard-fought 7-6(10) victory over Coastal Carolina. 

Davidson will break for the winter before hosting a doubleheader against Lenoir-Rhyne at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Jan. 25 on the Davidson Tennis Counts.
