DAVIDSON – Davidson women's tennis enters the second half of its Fall schedule at the ITA Regionals in Chapel Hill (Oct. 17-21) and the NCCU Invitational (Oct. 19-20).

The Wildcats are set to send five players to the Regional event in seniors Kavya Patel and Daniela Porges, junior Savanna Kollock, sophomore Bryson Langford and freshman Ellie Hammond.

Porges will compete in the singles main draw while the remaining four players will battle in the singles qualifying brackets. For doubles, Patel and Porges as well as the duo of Kollock and Langford will play in the main draw.

"This year we had several players qualify for regionals which is very exciting," said head coach Susanne Depka. "We have the opportunities to compete against high level players in the region and advance to the main draw. I look forward to the event and know we will compete well."

Many players from the 'Cats roster will also travel in state to compete in the NCCU Invitational against players in the region as well as Hampton University. Competing at NCCU will be Linden Patterson, Charlotte Calderwood, Ines Roti, Kailey Patel, Alex Rodehorst and Lilly Dwyer.

"This is an opportunity for our players to use everything they have worked on during the Fall," said Depka. "It is a great last tournament to end the Fall season."

Throughout the Fall season Davidson has attended the UNC Charlotte Invitational, Bedford Cup in Colorado Springs, Colorado and The Hall of Fame Hidden Duals hosted by William & Mary.

Fall Recap and Comments
BEDFORD CUP IN THE MOUNTAINS
The Wildcats competed in an opening tournament hosted by Air Force women's tennis in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Field consisted of Air Force, Colorado State, Davidson, Denver, Idaho State, Montana State, New Mexico, South Dakota, Utah State, Wyoming.
Sophomore, Langford defeated her University of Denver opponent in the opening singles match in three sets out of Flight Bravo. Fellow Sophomore Roti also won her opening match in three bouts out of Flight Charley. Rodehorst defeated her first match opponent in a three-set comeback win while rookie Hammond topped her first competitor in two both out of Flight Delta.

UNC CHARLOTTE
Porges and Kollock participated in the UNCC Invitational to kick off the Fall competition early in September.
"Dani had a great match while Savanna also fought hard and worked through some things" said Depka. "Dani had a lot of opportunities to win the match. It was very competitive and nice first match. Savanna's match was also another competitive and great start."

HALL OF FAME HIDDEN DUALS
"We had a very competitive weekend with extremely tough competition," said Depka. "The team did well focus on all our processes and working to get one degree better. Our doubles improved and was just a few errors here and there that didn't give us the wins. We also improved mentally this weekend with being more consistent with our thoughts, staying in the present and being able to problem solve. I'm proud of this group for continuing to come out each day and compete regardless of the outcomes and previous days. We had many opportunities in each match, and we would not have had those if we were not strong mentally. I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish at the end of the Fall."

Langford highlighted the three days of competition at William & Mary when she defeated a tough UNC opponent Susanna Maltby in a 7-6(3), 6-2 triumph on day two. Calderwood also picked up a day-two win in a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 hard-fought battle over Isabella Rivera of ECU.
