Satterfield Picks Up Another Win, But Wrestling Falls at App State

BOONE, N.C. – Senior Noah Satterfield picked up his second straight victory, but wrestling fell at Appalachian State in a Southern Conference dual inside Varsity Gym Sunday, 41-3.
After a scoreless first frame, Satterfield chose bottom and got on the board first with an escape. Taking a 1-0 edge into the third, the 165-pounder used a takedown and held on for the riding time point to win a tight decision, 4-3. With the victory, Satterfield improves to 6-7 overall and 2-1 in SoCon bouts.
Freshman David Loniewski battled hard at 141-pounds, earning a pair of reversals throughout the bout, but was unable to overcome Bradley Irwin in an 8-5 decision loss.
Davidson returns to the mats Friday, Jan. 17 back at Belk Arena in SoCon action against the Bulldogs of The Citadel. The first bout is slated for 7 p.m.
