Volleyball Drops Match at La Salle

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Davidson volleyball team rebounded to force a fourth set Friday night at La Salle, but the Explorers responded themselves to notch a 3-1 win in Atlantic 10 action.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 8-12 overall and 3-4 in the A-10, while La Salle improved to 10-10 and 4-4.
After dropping the first two sets 25-18 and 25-17, the Wildcats posted a 30-28 win in the third. They had to rally to do it. Trailing 18-14, Davidson reeled off six straight points to lead 20-18. From there, the teams tied nine times before the Wildcats closed it with a kill by Madeline Wynn and a service ace from Josie Treadwell.
La Salle, answered, however. The Explorers won nine of 10 points early in the fourth set to secure a clinching 25-12 win.
Wynn, a freshman middle blocker, led the way for Davidson with a personal-best 13 kills and added seven blocks. Sophomore outside Annalyse Kitzberger added 11 kills, and Hattie Rodriguez had nine.
Sydney Champaigne had 36 assists, and Treadwell led with 10 digs.
