Wrestling Drops SoCon Dual to Campbell

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson wrestling suffered a tough loss at the hands of the defending Southern Conference Champions, Campbell University, Friday night at Belk Arena, 48-0.
With the loss Davidson falls to 1-8 overall and 0-4 in SoCon dual meet action, while with the win Campbell improves to 5-6 and 2-0 in the conference.
Junior Zamir Ode and sophomore Conor Fenn each fell in tight decisions. Ode, competing in the 133-pound class, earned an escape in the second round after suffering a takedown, but ultimately fell, 6-1. At 184 pounds, Fenn held a 3-2 advantage after the first period and 4-2 after two, but a pair of takedowns and a near fall count of two put Luke Funck over the top for the 9-6 victory.
The Camels recorded five fall victories in the winning effort.
Davidson returns to the mats tomorrow, Jan. 27 back at Belk Arena against SIUE at 7 p.m.
