It was the home finale for the Wildcats, who fall to 15-12 overall and 5-9 in the SoCon. Georgia Southern improves to 17-13, 9-5 in the league.

Sanford added nine digs for the Eagles, and Parker Small registered 11 kills. Kate Van Dyke collected 49 assists and 18 digs, while Moriah Bellissimo posted 27 digs.

Leading 10-7, the Eagles rattled off an 8-1 run to pull away in set one. Small ignited the spurt with a kill, and Sanford added three kills.

Sanford added three kills and Nelson had two as the Eagles jumped out to a 9-3 cushion in the second set. The margin never dipped below five points from there.

Davidson trailed 19-15 in the third set but rattled off eight consecutive points to take a 23-19 lead. The 'Cats had set point at 24-21, but Sanford and Small posted consecutive kills to tie the score. The duo then combined for a block to make it 25-24, and Brown's attack attempt sailed just wide for Davidson to end the match.

The Wildcats finish off the regular season with a pair of road games at Furman and Wofford Saturday and Sunday.
