WASHINGTON — After posting multiple wins over the weekend, Davidson diver Elle Jacobsen has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Performer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
It's the third weekly A10 honor of Jacobsen's career, and she's sharing it with Richmond's Gabbie Primiano.
Competing at Richmond's multi-team event, Jacobsen swept the 1-meter and 3M competitions on two straight days in a field of 16 divers, also including those from Duquesne, George Mason and Richmond.
"I thought Elle looked steady and consistent," said diving coach Greg Ferrucci. "She's only going to keep improving and increasing her score throughout the season. She's off to a great start!"
Jacobsen posted high scores of 253.95 (1M) and 257.95 (3M), and Ferrucci said she excelled in the back and reverse 2.5 categories on 3M.
"Both of these dives on both days of the meet were the best she has completed them in quite a while," he said.
Jacobsen and the rest of Davidson's divers will compete Oct. 23-24 at UNCW's Seahawk Invitational.
