'Cats Look for Bounce-Back Win at Cincinnati

DAVIDSON - The Davidson women's basketball team will look to return to its winning ways when it travels to Cincinnati, Ohio for a 6:30 p.m. contest Wednesday.

SERIES HISTORY...
The Wildcats will look to earn their first ever win over the Bearcats come Wednesday as the two teams have only met one previous time on Dec. 21, 2008. Cincinnati defeated Davidson 60-42 inside Fifth Third Arena with Kahla Roudebush scoring a game-high 24 points for the Bearcats. Davidson's efforst were led by Mercedes Robinson, who tallied a 21-point, 13-rebound double-double.

LAST TIME OUT...
Despite a late-game push, the Davidson women's basketball team came up short of a come-back, falling 56-53 to High Point University Sunday on the road.
Candice Lienafa and Kyra Bruyndoncx led the charge for the Wildcats combining for 24 points with 13 and 11, respectively. Millie Prior paced the 'Cats on defense grabbing 15 of Davidson's 36 rebounds and making two blocks while going for seven points and four assists.
MIGHTY MILLIE...
Arguably one of the conferences best defensive players, Prior continues to live up to the hype early in the season as she grabbed seven rebounds and made four blocks over the 'Cats win against FGCU then collected 15 rebounds and made two blocks against the Panthers. Prior, after two contest, is 17th in all Division I in blocks per game and first within the Atlantic 10 with her six.
KEEPING UP WITH KYRA...
In two starts, rookie Kyra Bruyndoncx has shown great promise, entering the week averaging 10.5 points per game while shooting .421 from the field. Bruyndoncx has had her name at the top of the box score in both of Davidson's games so far this year and is coming off of playing a season-high 33 minutes against High Point.
HANDS UP...
Over two games, the Davidson defense has shown to stifle its competition, especially from long range as Davidson leads the conference in opponent 3-point percentage, keeping its competitors at .167 percent. Nationally, the 'Cats are 15th among all Division I teams in opponent 3-point percentage. Additionally, the Wildcats lead the Atlantic 10 in blocks per game (6.5) and are 23rd in the Nation.

With Bruyndoncx and Lienafa having scored their first points against FGCU, Sienna Dauer and Edina Strausz joined their fellow rookies with their first career baskets Sunday at High Point.

The Cincinnati defense has proven tough over its first two games holding its opponents to just a .288 shooting performance from the floor in addition to forcing 14.5 turnovers a game.
Leading the charge offensively for the Bearcats is fifth year Jillian Hayes who averages 20.5 points per game and shoots an efficient .615 from the field while bringing in 11.0 rebounds per game.
